Insider Suspected in Bulgarian Lotto Snatch

Crime | May 9, 2006, Tuesday // 00:00

An insider might have helped the robbers of a Bulgarian lottery van the past weekend.

That is one of the three main versions for the attack, the police announced Tuesday.

They have said that an inside man might have provided information to the robbers, who snatched about EUR 25 000 from a cash-collecting van of the state lottery.

The vehicle was raided on Sunday morning in Lagera district, by three armed men wearing face masks.

After firing out, the assailants managed to snatch three bags containing sums cashed in during the day at the local state lotto station.
