Student Dorms Ablaze in Bulgaria

Crime | May 9, 2006, Tuesday // 00:00

The student dormitory of the Technical University in Bulgaria's second city of Plovdiv caught fire late Monday night.

The flames started from a third-floor room and three fire brigades immediately responded to the scene. They managed to subdue the fire and no one was hurt.

All the students were evacuated from the building. Blazes didn't cause much damage, except in the room where the fire started. It is still unclear what caused the accident, although fire fighters suspect that the electrical installation might have short-circuited. An investigation has been launched.
