The UK Conservative party has voiced its support for Bulgaria's timely entry into the European Union.
In a letter sent by the Tory leader David Cameron it was written that the Conservative party is firmly supporting Bulgaria's entry into the Union, which will result in closer relations between Bulgaria and the United Kingdom over the next years.
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to send you and the people of Bulgaria regards in this time. Having long been a supporter of the enlargement of the European Union, I am looking forward in particular to Bulgaria's accession to the Union. It is important that the European family of nations committed to democracy, free trade and co-operation work closely together to achieve our common goals and I am sure that Bulgaria and the United Kingdom will be able to forge an even closer relationship in the years ahead," the letter reads.
Baroness Rawlings, MP in the House of Lords presented the letter to Bulgaria's prime minister during their Sofia meeting. The main topic of discussion between Stanishev and his guest was Bulgaria's EU entry.
