Bulgaria has signed four memorandums with the European Union's ISPA programme.
The total sum is EUR 29. 7 M, of which almost EUR 23 M are gratis aid from the bloc.
That completes the negotiations of ISPA funding for Bulgaria for the entire period of the project.
ISPA, together with Phare and Sapard, is one of the union's three financial instruments to assist the candidate countries in the preparation for accession. Its objectives are to help candidates catch up with EU environmental standards, and to upgrade and expand links with the trans-European transport networks.
Bulgaria will use the latest ISPA cash will be used in the fields or road and railway transport, waste processing and water preservation, the Finance Ministry announced Sunday.
