Crime | April 29, 2006, Saturday // 00:00
Hospitals in five Bulgarian cities have cheated the state's Healthcare Fund, officials said during a conference Saturday.
Health centers in Sofia, Smolyan, Targovishte, Gabrovo and Pazardzhik will face checks by the economic police and the prosecution.
Presenting a report on healthcare expenses over January-March, the Healthcare Fund's chief said that the money spent in March were more than planned.
Should that tendency keep up by the end of the year, there will be a budget over-expenditure, Ivan Bukarev said during a national healthcare conference.
