Bulgaria's police have foiled the planned murder of a 29-year-old business woman, it was broken on Wednesday.
The head of the National Service for Organized Crime Combat General Vanyo Tanov explained that the mastermind of the murder, a 58-year-old woman, and the hitman, a taxi driver with a criminal record, have been arrested.
The victim of the planned assault runs a business with an annual turnover of BGN 4 M (about EUR 2 M).
Police suspect that the murder was meant to settle scores. The initial plan was to attack the victim with a baseball bat, but then the "assaulters" decided to blow up her car.
The information about the contract murder was received on Tuesday afternoon, and after an investigation policemen found the man who tried to orchestrate the murder, as well as the picked executor.
