The Bulgarians, working in foreign and Bulgarian institutions and companies in Bulgaria and abroad welcome the Cabinet’s idea of establishing Consultative Council on Economic Growth issues, an open letter to the Cabinet from members of Bulgarian Velikden, Bulgarian Wall Street Club and New BGeneration, reads. “Still we would like to express our concerns about the procedure of selecting its members and its unclear goals, “ the letter proceeds.

According to the letter, signed by 21 Bulgarians, the broad discussion on issues concerning Bulgarian economy restructuring and reforms in the industry will improve the political and economic literacy of the Bulgarian people, will provide the much needed feedback from the ordinary people to the Cabinet and will boost the support of the Cabinet’s reformist moves.

It is underlined however that the Council must represent the common interests of all that take part in the economy of Bulgaria. “It is unpardonable for a democratically elected cabinet in a democratic country to build special relations with one group of persons, such as the newly formed business club “Vuzrazdhane”, “ the letter claims. According to it this puts the rest of the Bulgarian and foreign representatives of the business sector at a disadvantage as partners in the dialogue for Bulgaria’s prosperity.

Those who signed the open letter insist on transparency in forming the Council. They express their hope that the Cabinet’s decision will be in the interest of Bulgaria’s European choice. “We believe that the Council will encourage Bulgarian and foreign investors choose Bulgaria as a predictable and safe place for their business, “ the open letter ends.
