A huge fire burst out in a hypermarket of the Boila trading chain, burning it down even before the building was officially opened.
Firefighters received the alarm at 5.50 p.m. and sent to the site nine vehicles, an ambulance and a rescue team.
So far, there is information about one lightly gased person who was rushed to hospital. There is no information about casualties.
It is believed the fire broke from the basement storeys of the hypermarket where workers were repairing the hydroisolation of refrigerators there.
Offices of nearby business buildings already suffered material damages, police said.
Civil defense authorities have initially warned of possible evacuation in three nearby neighbourhoods of Sofia due to the threat of air poisoning with danegrous chemical stuff.
Evacuation works were evaded after air measurements showed the content of hydrocyanogen.
