Bulgarian Border Police Dismiss Drunk Driver

Crime | March 31, 2006, Friday // 00:00

The border police in Bulgaria have dismissed a sergeant who was caught driving while intoxicated.

Vladislav Yordanov, who works at the airport border police, crashed his private car on February 22, and his blood alcohol level was measured at 2.4 promiles.

The sergeant's behavior is incompatible with the moral of the border police, and his actions are derogatory to the institution's reputation, the Interior Ministry said. Because of that Krassimir Petrov head of the National Border Police service has decided to lay off Yordanov.
