King`s pronouncement yesterday sent such an obviously socialist message to the people that even George Purvanov (from Bulgarian Socialist Party) became enthusiastic, Bulgarian PM Ivan Kostov commented ex-monarch statement.
Asked about the possibility ruling UDF to coalesce with king`s party, PM Kostov replied that they would wait to see if NMS II would change its program again. State Savings Bank Director, Spas Dimitrov explained that the promise of Simeon II to grant interest-free credits for sums up to BGN 5.000, and lower the interest rate for sums up to BGN 10.000 would lead to a collapse in Bulgaria`s banking system and is going to shake the trust in our banks. The chief EU negotiator, Vladimir Kisiov, said that Simeon II slows down the negotiations with EU. `I am worried about the negotiation process because of the obscure stand on the EU accession in the King`s coalition program,` he said. Kisiov added that the cryptic messages sent by NMS II slow down the negotiations. EU negotiator is concerned about the King`s intention to reduce sharply the expenditures on the maintenance of state administration.
