Greece Busts Bulgarian Baby-Trafficking Gang

Crime | March 22, 2006, Wednesday // 00:00

Police authorities have busted a group of five Bulgarians who dealt with baby trafficking in Greece, media reported.

The traffickers were caught when a police officer contacted them, claiming that he was interested in purchasing a baby. A 40-year-old Bulgarian woman negotiated the sale of a 40-day-old baby. It was born by a younger Bulgarian in a hospital in Lamia. All the arrested Bulgarians shared the same house.

Police is yet to determine whether these people trafficked other babies.
