A private Bulgarian channel showed Saturday night footage of the homosexual orgy that recently sparkled a Sofia prison abuse scandal.

The recording was made with a mobile phone by an ex-prisoner, and was later released on the Internet.

It showed several inmates in humiliating sexual action, and one of the involved men later said he was forced into the orgy.

The prisoner agreed to show his face on camera and talk to Nova TV, confessing that his children had seen the footage online and came to him asking for explanation.

The scene was recorded last August by then prisoner Yanko Vatashki. In what was apparently a repellent celebration of his birthday, Vatashki got prison mates involved in an orgy, while he was sitting aside and taking footage with his phone.

Amid mounting pressure from the media, prosecutors are said to have taken on the case.

An investigation should reveal why warders did not interfere, and whether participants in the shocking action were actually forced into it.

It also remains unclear how had Vatashki managed to keep his own mobile phone during the imprisonment.
