Israeli troops, backed by helicopters and dozens of tanks, seized the Palestinian-ruled city of Tulkarem early Monday, establishing positions all over the town. The Palestinian security sources say one Palestinian was killed and seven were wounded during the raid. The action is the first time Israeli troops have taken control of an entire Palestinian city since the uprising in the Palestinian territories began in September 2000.
