Tom Cruise and his fiancee Katie Holmes entered history on Saturday by becoming the first couple "honored" with the Hollywood Razzie award for "most tiresome tabloid targets".

Cruise's former significant other Nicole Kidman wasn't spared either and together with Will Ferrell grabbed the prize for "worst screen couple" for their less than convincing performance in "Bewitched."

The new introduction this year was the "tiresome" category, singling "the celebs we're all sick and tired of." Holmes and Cruise became undisputed winners with their constant presence in tabloids. The actor's incoherent appearance on Oprah when he started jumping up and down on the sofa to express his love for Holmes was probably the last straw.

Former Playboy model Jenny McCarthy, however, became the absolute winner, banking home four raspberries for "Dirty Love", a movie she wrote and starred in.

Hayden Christensen, better known as Anakin Skywalker from "Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith", was again proclaimed worst supporting actor - a title he received last year for his portrayal of Skywalker in Episode II.

The Razzies are given out each year the night before Hollywood's Oscars in an attempt to mock the worst movies that came out over the year. Bad performances, flat scripts and technical glitches are key in winning a Razzie.
