That joke must have been created to describe the Bulgarian cops, but that is simply so because they are so busy to catch the bad guys, right?
We are on the streets looking after your safety, police officers and officials repeat in chorus.
Sure, silly me, how could I be so stupid! Yes, probably, in a certain way they are always around ... but not quite.
They are around when you park improperly, or when you pass on red light. These "harsh crimes" won't remain unnoticed. A tough guy with a strict look on his face will come to "punish" you properly for the "crime you've committed." That's of course, if you don't have another offer for him...
But they weren't around when several people were shot dead in the center of the capital city of Bulgaria, they weren't around when two little girls were brutally murdered and they weren't around when a young woman was butchered, once again downtown Sofia...
The question that remains is will the cops be around to catch the murderers?
I'm certainly not an expert but I do know that it takes more than just to walk around with a strict look on your face and it takes more than just to chatter from the TV screen.
Initially it is reported that the people who committed these crimes are known. But what bothers me most that that these people remain "unknown" for days, months, years... So how can I feel safe?
