THREE OFFICERS LEFT FOR KABUL TO GET ACQUAINTED WITH THE SITUATION

Three Bulgarian officers left for Kabul on January 18 to get acquainted with the situation in Afghanistan. General Miho Mihov, Chief of General Staff of the Bulgarian Armed Forces stated that it is important that all candidates who want to participate in the Bulgarian mission in Afghanistan are informed for all the risks that might arise during their stay in Afghanistan. General Mihov discussed this issue with his Latvian counterpart Colonel Raimonds Graube, Commander of the National Armed Forces of Latvia who is paying a three-day official visit to Bulgaria. Forty Bulgarian servicemen, who will maintain a military chemical complex, will join the British contingent of peacekeeping forces in Afghanistan till mid-February, the Cabinet decided on January 17. The Cabinet's decision is to be moved to Parliament. According to it the servicemen selection, organized by the Bulgarian Army General Staff, will be over till the end of the month. The Bulgarian military group will include military men on regular service, officers and sergeants.
