AREMISSOFT MAY CANCEL CONTRACT WITH HEALTH INSURANCE FUND

Business | January 18, 2002, Friday // 00:00

NASDAQ-listed software maker AremisSoft might cancel its contract with the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) on the development of its software in case the Fund fails to pay BGN 2 M for the software products. The possibility of erasing the modules delivered so far has not been ruled out. According to Vasko Kolev, general manager of AremisSoft’s subsidiary in Bulgaria such orders had been received and overruled by him. As a result the funding for the Bulgarian office has been halted. If NHIF fails to pay before the new deadline set by the parent company expires – January 25, the contract will be cancelled and will probably initiate legal actions against the fund.
