U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell has promised continued U.S. support for Afghanistan before he departed the Central Asian nation for New Delhi, to seek a resolution to the standoff between India and Pakistan. Powell told Afghan interim leader Hamid Karzai that Washington would be making a "significant contribution" on Monday in Japan at the International Conference on Reconstruction Assistance to Afghanistan.
