SOFIA MAYOR WILL APPEAL EURO BOND ISSUE BREACH ACCUSATIONS

"I'll appeal to the Prosecutor’s Office against the accusations of criminal breach of trust on the Sofia Municipality Euro bond issue," Sofia Mayor Stefan Sofianski said after visiting the Prosecutor’s Office to review the materials on the case. Sofianski refused to comment whether the accusation is political order. On January 11, Sofia mayor Stefan Sofianski was accused of a criminal breach of trust on the Sofia Municipality Euro bond issue. If found guilty, Sofia mayor faces sentences of up to ten years of imprisonment. He was released on bail of BGN 10,000. “Nobody is against the eurobonds loan, issued by the Sofia Municipality. We are against two main issues: the order of mayor Sofianski for a sum of USD 135, 700 without legal grounds and there are sufficient proofs for violations of the procedure,” Deputy Chief Prosecutor Manchev commented.
