BULGARIA’S AID FOR AFGHANISTAN DISCUSSED WITH AFGHAN DIPLOMAT

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Passy and Mohammad Saifi, Afghan charge d'affaires, discussed the possibilities of Bulgaria’s participation in Afghanistan's reconstruction. Bulgarian companies participated in fifty projects in Afghanistan, and they must again find their place in the country, Minister Passy said after his meeting with the Afghan diplomat. The Afghan diplomat noted Bulgaria is the first East European country to send an envoy to Kabul. Saifi also discussed with Passy the possibility of Bulgaria providing humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. The diplomat said that the country needs food, medicine, and clothing. The details will be specified in additional talks. According to Angel Orbetsov, who departs on January 18 for Kabul as Foreign Minister’s special envoy Technoexport, Elektroimpex, Agrocomplex, Bulgartabac, and many pharmaceutical and construction companies have already expressed willingness to return to the Afghan market.
