Hollywood actor Michael Madsen will star in the first for 2006 production of Nu Image in Bulgaria - Rin Tin Tin.
Bulgarian actors and movies specialists are in the key positions in the production. Emil Topuzov is main cameraman, while Petar Mechkov is director of the second team. The movie will also be participated by Bulgarian actors Atanas Srebrev, Velizar Binev, Pavel Poppandov, Didi Zhivkova, Boryana Shehtova, Krassimir Gospodinov and others.
The shooting will take place at different locations in Bulgaria and is expected to be concluded in the end of February.
The drama Rin Tin Tin is a franchise of the famous series of Walt Disney. It tells the story of a dog found in a demolished French city in the end of the World War I and his journey to the US and the adventures it had there. The screenplay of the movies is of David Rowland and Danny Lerner directed the movie.
The preparation of another three productions: "Shooter" with Wesley Snipes, "Until the Death" with Jean-Claude Van Damme and the remake of George Romero's classic "Day of the Dead" will begin next week, the moviemaker announced.
Nu Image' plan for 2006 includes 12 movies and five of them will be shot in Bulgaria.
Nu Image Bulgaria won the privatisation contest for the Boyana firm studio, formerly state-owned. They pitched the highest bid, a total of EUR 6.250 M (BGN 12.2 M) and vowed first-year investments of EUR 11.4 M out of the whole of EUR 15.6 M in investment plans. Compensation instruments are to be paid for 30% of the shares.
Over the next three years, Nu Image Bulgaria will invest more than EUR 15.5M, of which some will be spend for modernization of Boyana's buildings.
