Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit visits Washington this week hoping to dissuade President Bush from making Turkey's neighbor Iraq the next target of the "war on terror." Few doubt that Iraq will be top of the agenda when Ecevit, flying to Washington Monday, meets Bush Wednesday. NATO member Turkey fears military action on Iraq could spill over into its own territory, dealing another blow to the fragile economy as well as rekindling Kurdish separatism in the region.
