Men from Northern Greece who have tied the knot with Bulgarian brides live in marital satisfaction and success, says Greek agency ANA-MPA, citing officials.
Marriages with Bulgarian women in Northern Greece near the river valley of Maritsa are stable, totaling 55 since 1993.
The agency gives as an example the district of Trigono, which includes 17 villages and is located a few hundred meters off the border.
"Most of the Bulgarian wives take care of the daily chores, work in the garden and quickly adapt", the agency comments.
Mixed marriages are considered to be an efficient solution to the demographic problems in Greece. Official data shows that there are two unmarried men per every unmarried woman in the country, the problem being the gravest for the young men, aged over 20s.
