VISA AGREEMENT WITH RUSSIA DRAFTED

Russian citizens will be issued visas only against an invitation, Cabinet decided. Cabinet drafted the visa agreement between Bulgaria and Russia. The agreement is expected to enter into force as of October 1, 2001. Visa restrictions were postponed due to anticipations of ruining the tourist season in Bulgaria. Visa-free will travel Russian citizens below 16 and above 60 years of age, package tourists and students. Russian tourists account for the largest share in the domestic market.
