One hundred cameras will be installed in the cargo zone of the Sofia Airport by January 15. “That measure is prompted by the large-scale thefts of shipments from aircraft,” is written in a report of Plamen Petrov, Transport Minister to the management of the Sofia Airport. The cameras cost BGN 150,000. Many importers complain with thefts of shipments worth thousands of dollars in the cargo zone. Only in 2001, software companies reported losses of USD 10 M after thefts of computers and software equipment.
