Renowned Bulgarian architect Bogdan Tomalevski was awarded the state honor Paisii Hilendarski for 2005. The award was presented to him by Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev.

Bogdan Tomalevski has left a part of himself in each building and complex he has constructed, but he has also managed to establish an entire architectural school that educated many famous Bulgarian architects, the prime minister said in his address. He also expressed his gratitude to the architect for the forming of the Bulgarian national identity.

A professional jury elected the prominent Bulgarian classic among 4 other nominees including musicians, poets and sculptures.
