Children under 14 to be banned from going to night clubs is envisaged in a bill to be tabled in Parliament by the Ministry of Health Care. The bill was approved on January 4 at a meeting of the committee, which is to draw up a program on the protection of children and youth’s health and safety. Education Minister Vladimir Atanasov heads the Committee. The Committee was formed after the tragic event at a Sofia disco club, when seven children died in a stampede. Under the bill to be approved by Parliament, children between 14 and 16 years old will be allowed to go to night clubs for children. Sale of cigarettes and alcohol to them will be completely banned and sanctioned by law.
