Three spoiled EUR 100 bank notes have been detected in Biochim bank. The bank notes did not have a hologram, Rumen Popov, chief cashier of the bank explained. The bank notes were given to a client of Biochim. “The bank notes are not forged, they are spoiled,” Martin Zaimov, Deputy-Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank explained. He added that bank notes very rarely get spoiled. According to Zaimov, the fact that 14 billions bank notes have been produced explains why there are such cases. Spoiled bank notes are changed by the Bulgarian National Bank.
