Bulgarian Campaign Nourishes "Flame for Sex"

"Flame for Sex" - a national informational campaign on sexual vitality - has begun in Sofia on Tuesday.

The campaign aims at supplying Bulgarian patients with complete information on the Erectile Dysfunction disease (ED) often called impotence.

Bayer HealthCare Bulgaraia and the Bulgarian Family Planning Association (BFPA) are organizing the campaign that would place information "Packets with a Flame" containing general information about ED, possible treatment methods and brochures preparing the patient for a visit to the doctor. The pack also contains a questionnaire that would help any man evaluate the level of his own sexual health himself.

The first Bulgarian web site entirely devoted to ED. providing extensive information for patients including a list of doctors' names and addresses and also specialized current data for doctors and pharmacists, has also been launched Tuesday.

According to leading doctors many Bulgarian man suffered from erectile disturbances that were usually caused by other serious diseases, while the ED topic remained a taboo in society. This brought about the need for distributing information on the topic.

Surveys by sociological Market Test agency for 2005 showed that every fifth Bulgarian between the age of 40 and 60 suffered from ED.
