NEW GREEK BORDER CHECKPOINTS TO BE OPENED BEFORE 2004 OLYMPICS

Bulgaria proposed that four new checkpoints on the Greek border are opened in connection with the expected increase in the number of foreign tourists before the 2004 Olympics, Deputy Prime Minister Kostadin Paskalev said. Greek authorities confirmed that the new checkpoints will be opened in 2004. All problems concerning the construction are to be discussed at a meeting between the Bulgarian and Greek Prime Ministers to be held in the first half of 2002.
