STATE RAILWAYS COMPANY DIVIDED IN TWO COMPANIES

Staring from January 1, the Bulgarian State Railways was divided in two independent companies – one, in charge of the transportation and one in charge of the infrastructure. Georgi Nikolov was appointed director of the infrastructure company;Vladiir Dunchev, who was head of the Bulgarian State Railways, stayed at the position Executive Director of the company for transportation and cargo. Meanwhile, Rei Holding announced that it will invest in a private railways, traveling with which will not be more expensive than with the state-owned railways. The company is ready to invest BGN 50 M for train repair and to employ laid-off national railways workers.
