A total of 26 foreign nationals attempted to cross illegally the Bulgarian border in the last couple of days. Four Tunisian citizens have been detained at 1 a.m on December 31 by border police near Kapitan Andreevo check-point on the Turkish border. Fifteen Afghan and seven more Iraqi illegal migrants were detained near Svilengrad. The police foiled the attempt following a report by local residents. During an interview it emerged that one member of the group had frozen to death and his body had been buried in the snow. On the next day the body was found. According to the other members of the group, the victim is Iraqi national Kadir Ahmet. An investigation into the case has been initiated.
