Chimko Vratsa Fertilizer plant is expected to post a loss of BGN 8 M at the end of 2001, BGN 4,747,000 less than last year, it emerged after the general shareholders meeting last week. The loss will be distributed in five equal portions over a five-year-period. The poor financial performance is attributed to natural gas high prices and low fertilizer prices on the international markets. The company’s operations were suspended at the end of November. The losses accumulated since then amount to USD 4,000. Among the company’s priorities for 2002 are buiding an information system, commissioning of a new plant for production of granulated fertilizer and a new heat power plant.
