The ministers decided on December 27, prices of electricity and heating to go up with 10%, Milko Kovachev newly appointed Minister of Energy announced. The ministers decreed the increase in spite of the fact that the Court overturned that decision of the Cabinet. A five-member group of the Supreme Administrative Court overturned the regulations in the Cabinet’s decree, which envisaged a 10% rise in the heating and electricity prices for domestic purposes on December 5. According to the court the decree ruled on issues connected with the living standard and its adoption had to be consulted with representatives of the Trilateral Cooperation Council, as envisaged in the Commercial Code. The new prices will be enforced, staring from December 28 when they will be published in the "State Gazette."
