BULGARIA AND GREAT BRITAIN TO COOPERATE AGAINST DRUG TRAFFICKING

Bulgarian Finance Minister Milen Velchev and British Ambassador to Bulgaria Youn Souttar signed an agreement on cooperation against drug trafficking between the governments of Bulgaria and Great Britain. The British government commits to providing equipment for finding drugs, as well as equipment and training for checking cooled or frozen goods at the Capitan Andreevo border checkpoint. The British government will cover costs of up to GBP 3,000 under the project till March 31, 2005. The Bulgarian government will cover costs exceeding this amount.
