Libyan Leader Colonel Muammar Qaddafi on Saturday received Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Solomon Passy who is visiting Tripoli. Their meeting took place immediately after the conference the Bulgarian chief diplomat had with ambassadors of the European Union member states who attended the Saturday hearing of the case involving the infection of Libyan children with HIV in which six Bulgarian medics are also defendants. Muammar Qaddafi said that the trial of the Bulgarian medics in Tripoli casts a shadow over the traditionally good relations between the two countries. He said he can’t imagine the Bulgarians citizens could have done such a thing. NATO and EU –enlargement has also been discussed at the meeting. It is the first meeting between Libyan leader and high leveled Bulgarian governmental representative since many years. The meeting is considered as great success of Bulgarian diplomacy and Passy personally.
