AIR CHARTER EXPECTS OVER 3,000 TOURISTS IN WINTER SEASON 2001/2002

Some 3,500 foreign tourists, mainly Germans, are expected to use Bulgarian Air Charter flight program for the winter season 2001/2002, Philip Mustakov, Executive director, said. Bulgarian Air Charter does business with the No.3 German tour operator JTS and with Neckermann. During the winter season, the flights run between the Schonefeld airport in Berlin and the Plovdiv airport. From there the tourists are transported to the ski resort of Pamporovo in the Rhodope mountains.The bulk of charter flights to and from Bulgaria used to be handled by another Bulgarian carrier, Air Via. Now the two companies share the domestic charter market.
