“The situation is very delicate and we are not allowed to adopt extreme positions,” Parliamentary Speaker, Ognyan Gerdzhikov said, commenting the Libyan People’s Court decision to postpone the hearing of the case against the Bulgarian medics accused of intentionally infecting 393 Libyan children with HIV virus. He said that the maintenance of good Bulgarian-Libyan relations will be of crucial importance for the final outcome of the case. He admitted that the news surprised him and did not hide his fears that the uncertainly is the worst sentence defendants can get. Parliamentary Speaker underlined the Cabinet and Parliament’s efforts to help the Bulgarian medics in Tripoli.
