Trilateral Coalition Goes for Govt

The leaders of Bulgaria's Socialists, the centrist Simeon II National Movement and the Turks, the three largest parties in Bulgaria's Parliament, signed a coalition agreement Monday.

They pledged to form a government a government of the European integration, economic growth and social responsibility.

The signatures of Sergey Stanishev, Simeon Saxe-Coburg and Ahmed Dogan clinched a three-way coalition for governing the country in the period 2005-2009.

A previously agreed coalition was set as a prerequisite by President Georgi Parvanov to hand down the third mandate.

Late on Monday Bulgarian President granted the third mandate to the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and assigned to its prime minister's candidate Sergey Stanishev to form a cabinet.
