Bulgaria launched Monday a campaign to clean up the Rila national park.

The campaign will continue to August 28 and will include the Malyovishki and Musalenski parts of the Rila park.

The garbage will be collected and processed, the organizers of the event announced.

The campaign was triggered by the lack of working system for protecting the national parks from pollution. It also aims to attract more tourists to the Rila park and its motto will be "Put the garbage in the backpack."

More than 100 participants from entire Bulgaria are expected to join the campaign.
