Russia’s plane maker MIG, known for its military jets in particular, hopes to reach a deal with Bulgaria to modernize its MiG-29fighet fleet as part of Bulgaria’s efforts to bring the air force up to the NATO standards, Reuters announced. The news agency quoted a spokesman of MiG, saying in Moscow that the company hoped to sign a deal with Bulgaria to modernize 20 Soviet-built MiGs. The upgrade project is to be carried out in Russia. Currently, there are 123 MiG-29s in Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Slovakia. The modernization of these planes could bring to Russia up to USD 300 M.
