JAPANESE BUSINESSMAN MAY INVEST IN BULGARIAN HOSPITALS

The Japanese businessman Torao Tokuda will invest in Bulgarian hospitals, Health Care Minister Bozhidar Finkov announced. Tokuda made a tour of three university hospitals – “Queen Ioanna,” “St.Anna” and “Lozenets.” According to officials from the Health Ministry, the businessman was considering a possibility to register a private Health Fund in Bulgaria. Dr. Torao Tokuda is President of the Tokushukai Medical Corporation, which owns 170 medical institutions with 18,000 employees in Japan. This spring, the construction of the first hospital of the Tokushukai Medical Corporation outside Japan began in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. The hospital will be the most modern in Bulgaria. In this medical institution, 1300 Bulgarians will work. They will specialize in Japan. The Tokushukai hospital will be the biggest on the Balkans and patients from Greece, Turkey and Yugoslavia will be treated there.
