PARLIAMENT SUPPORTED CABINET’S EFFORTS FOR ACCELERATED EU NEGOTIATIONS

After two hours of debates Parliament voted unanimously a decision in connection with the Cabinet’s efforts for speeding up Bulgaria’s accession to the European Union. Parliament decided that the Cabinet tables in Parliament a strategy for Bulgaria’s negotiations with the European Union till February 7 as well as a concrete project for the national position on the EU future. Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg said that Bulgaria has been highly appreciated at the summit in Laeken, by becoming part of the representative Convention. Bulgaria will be presented in the European Conventionion, which will draft a constitution of United Europe with two MPs and a representative of the executive power. This would give Bulgaria the chance to discuss the future institutionalization of the EU.
