PRESIDENT-ELECT CONSIDERS SS-23 DESTRUCTION DEADLINE SENSIBLE

President-elect Georgi Parvanov had an official lunch with the Ambassadors of the Arab countries on December 19. Commenting on the Parliament’s declaration on destroying SS-23 missiles by November 2001, he said that this is a “sensible decision, in case we do our job in time”. The upcoming trial of the Bulgarian medics in Libya, accused of deliberately infecting Libyan children with HIV virus, has not been discussed at the lunch. The Ambassadors expressed the hope that more investments from the East will flow in to Bulgaria in the future.
