Elections'05 Surprise Left in Political Isolation

The greatest surprise of Elections 2005 - the nationalistic coalition Attack - has opened battle on two fronts in its first ever press conference after they appeared to be among entrants in next parliament.

The leader of Attack Volen Siderov faced a wave of negative reactions from journalists present at the party's press conference after his team has either diverted or refused to answer to almost none of the questions addressed to them.

It is unclear how media communications will work from now on as Volen Siderov has directly attacked the journalists for their non-objective reports on the party, its program and leaders.

Siderov left without answer all questions referring to his coalition's ability to make true pre-election promises in the face of narrow grip of some 22-24 seats.

Moreover, all the rest of seven winning parties declared they will not coalesce with Attack and expressed worries over the possible consequences of this "fascizoid" party.

All political leaders have agreed that the decisive entry of Attack into the 40th parliament is a phenomenon and as such it should be subject to detailed analysis and considerations for further steps.

Despite the mosaic and fragmented structure of the Bulgarian parliament that is expected to complete the pre-EU accession reforms, the Attack seems to be left in complete isolation labeled as the "scapegoat" of Elections 2005.
