The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry is preparing a meeting between Foreign Minister Passy and Seif al-Islam, head of the Qaddafi International Foundation for Charity Associations and son of the Libyan leader, a source from the ministry told “24 Hours” Daily. The two officials have been in touch on the telephone for four months now. On December 22 the People’s Court in Libya is expected to pass its final verdict on the case of the Bulgarian medics. The Bulgarian medics were accused of deliberately infecting Libyan children with HIV virus. It is very possible that the meeting takes place in Tripoli between December 18 and December 21. The information is not officially confirmed. The meeting might also take place in a European country in the beginning of next year. In case that the Bulgarian Foreign Minister leaves for Tripoli to hold talks with Libyan officials, Passy will most probably stay for the hearing of the Bulgarian medics case on December 22. Passy has a birthday on the same day. Passy is expected to meet his Libyan counterpart also. Meanwhile, the Libyan authorities released 177 prisoners for which the Qaddafi International Foundation for Charity Associations helped.
