The Government has published an advertisement in The Financial Times about the privatization of Commercial Bank Biochim. Great interest has been shown in Biochim so far. Some six banks are willing to bid, including an Austrian, a French, a Dutch, a German and a Bulgarian bank. A deadline for the privatization of the bank has not been set. Potential buyers are expected to conduct a due diligence in January or February. Most of them will want to see the audited accounts for 2001 before they file bids around March or April and Biochim's privatization is not expected to be completed by then.
