PARLIAMENT VOTED NATIONAL TELEVISION AND RADIO 2002 BUDGETS

Parliament approved the budgets of the Bulgarian National Radio and Bulgarian National Television - 31, 888, 000 and 40, 826,000 respectively – during its session on December 14. The MPs voted for a distribution system of the income tax – 50% will go to the municipalities budgets and 50 % - to the central budget. The increased daily traveling expenses for ministers equal one man’s social allowances for two months, Dimitur Yordanov of the United Democratic Forces, said during the discussions of the State Budget Bill 2002. Ivan Iskrov, chairman of the Parliamentary Budget Committee, answered back that the increase in the Cabinet budget for 2002 is 2,2%. All the agencies with the Cabinet however push the figure up to 17%.
