A new Bulgarian cathedral named after St King Boris Baptizer has opened doors in Berlin after the consecration ceremony on Sunday attended by Bulgarian Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg and his wife Margarita.

The solemn water-purifying ritual gathered the West and Central European Metropolitan Simeon, honorary consuls of Bulgaria and Bulgarians living in Germany.

During his two-day stay in the country Bulgarian premier has had meetings with Klaus Mangold, Chairman of the Foreign Investments Agency, with Michael Harms - representative of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations, as well as with Bulgarian businessmen working in Germany.

Simeon Saxe-Coburg is to be awarded the "honorable citizen of Coburg" rank on Monday.
