NEWLY ELECTED PRESIDENT INTENDS TO VISIT NATO HEADQUARTERS FIRST

President-elect Parvanov intends to visit the NATO headquarters after his inauguration on January 22, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Elena Poptodorova announced. Foreign Minister Passy talked with NATO officials about Parvanov’s visit to Brussels immediately after his inauguration, Poptodorova reiterated.During Bulgarian Foreign Minister Passy’s visit in Brussels he has been assured that 2006 is the latest possible deadline for the accession of all applicants into the European Union. In Brussels as well as in Washington, Minister Passy has been asked to confirm that Bulgaria’s foreign policy will be continued after the election of the new President.
